Water: A Great Ally Against Incontinence

As we have explained before, incontinence is the loss of control of the bladder. Anybody experiencing this understands that obtaining prompt solutions for this problem is one of the most desired things.

Incontinence has unfortunately become an astonishingly ordinary condition and many people are desperately looking for easy and practical methods to relieve this uncomfortable situation. It might sound incredible, but a great solution to enhance bladder management is at your fingertips. Yes, you read that right!

By simply grabbing a glass of water and drinking the right amount for your body, you will experience positive effects not only in your bladder and bowels, but also in your overall health.

Contrary to what mostly everybody believes regarding water and incontinence, drinking  4 to 8 glasses of water continuously during the day, tremendously contributes to make urine thinner and in this manner, it can be passed out easily, preventing the bladder from getting irritated.

It is worth mentioning that in order to get better results and cause less irritation to the bladder, drinking water has to be accompanied by a decrease in the consumption of certain drinks and foods such as: coffee, alcohol, soft drinks, milk, citrus juice, spicy foods, synthetic sugar substitutes and citrus fruits. Instead, try adding more fiber to your daily diet. This helps to avoid constipation and as result there will be less pressure on the bladder which in the end will help greatly with incontinence.

Resigning yourself to live with incontinence shouldn’t be your choice. There are ways to deal with it and to get good results if you are consistent and patient. A good technique to apply is to hold the urine as much as you can for a longer period of time. This helps to make the muscles in the bladder much stronger and as time passes by, you will be able to retain urine for longer periods.  Whenever you go to the bathroom, don’t rush yourself. Instead, make sure you completely empty the bladder. With practice, time and patience, incontinence will become a minor problem in your life.
